Speed frequently limits electronics. Faster systems enable
more sophisticated computation and analysis of larger quantities
of data. As anyone who has run the latest software on an old
processor has observed, slow performance can be prohibitively
cumbersome. For applications such as target detection, real-time
performance is critical.
Tanner Labs has developed innovative high-speed electronics,
including a highly compact yet comprehensive imaging
system, implemented using custom integrated circuits on
an MCM (multi-chip module), as well as a high-speed
camcorder and a digital video recorder.
These systems are invaluable research tools for they provide
capabilities that are otherwise not available.
